From the small and picturesque fishing village of Stø in Vesterålen, Arctic Whaletours is hosting whale watchers from all over the world seven days a week in 2010 from, May 22 st  til  September  12 st we go out to the whales twice a day; at 09.30 and 16:00 hrs.

From May 22 st til June 12 th and from August 21 st til September 12 th we depart  ones a day from 11.00. We can do more trips that days when we have enough people to take with us.

Stø is situated close to the continental shelf , where the whales have their natural habitat, and this gives an excellent starting point in order to see and experience some of the world’s largest animals. 

By spending 6 hrs. in open sea we get the best opportunities to observe several different species of whale. The species we see most often is the sperm whale, but if we are lucky we can also get a glimpse of pilot whale, minke whale, humpback, dolphins and orcas (killer whale).

In middle of June until the end of July we also arrange for night safari trips, which give a unique opportunity for seeing whales in the midnight sun!

On our way towards the shelfe we visit the seabird- and seal colonies at Anda Lighthouse. There you can watch seabirds such as sea eagle, white-breasted guillemot, grand cormorant and a multitude of puffins.

The magnificent scenery and the fresh sea air will surely add to the impression.
